

Youth Placement an Employability Solutions Ghana (Y-PES GH) is a locally-based but national in character Non- Governmental Organization (NGO) with its headquarters in the Regional Capital of the Upper West Region.
The idea of Y-PES Ghana started in 2013 but incorporated in 2015 by the Registrar General’s Department as Y-PES Ghana with the then intention of encouraging young people to move into volunteerism and placing people on internship of their respective place of study and interest, and create more avenues for them to learn on the job.
It also targeted youth into decision–making process thus, creating structures and opportunities for young people to use youth parliament as an advocacy platform for engagements with duty bearers and in partnership with the National Youth Authority.
Y-PES Ghana also realized that there was the need to celebrate achievers, hence, the introduction of Northern Sector Youth and Mentors Achievers’ Awards (NSYMA) Awards Scheme and Youth Celebrating Senior Citizens programmes. These and many more are now added to expand the mandate of the organization.
Ghana is now considered as a youthful country with 38.2% of its population being youth (15-35 years), according to the 2021 PHC, representing 11.8million young people across the country. Looking at the modern and current trends of events and the growing nature of the Ghana’s population, there was the urgent need for Y-PES Ghana expand the mandate of the organization to be focusing on critical thematic areas with much emphasis on making impact and effecting positive change to the Ghanaian youth. The organization seeks to work in ensuring achieving greater Impact change in society through these thematic areas indicated below but not limited to what is contained in this document.
Y-PES Ghana after having conducted a baseline survey realized that, to make impact means to have the right caliber of leaders which entails identifying, nurturing, mentoring, coaching among others and also creating the appropriate youth spaces that will help in the empowerment of these young generational leaders at all levels not forgetting “Benefit for the Youth Involve Youth: focusing on the aforementioned thematic areas. The organization is critical on the holistic empowerment of the youth irrespective of how these young people are categorized (able or disable, rural or urban, organized or unorganized, educated or uneducated, male or female, etc).
The need to celebrate achievers, hence, the introduction of Northern Sector Youth and Mentors Achievers’ Awards Scheme and Youth Celebrating Senior Citizens. These and many more are now added to expand the mandate of the organization to the new name “Youth Ready For Impact Change Ghana (YoRFIC Gh)”.
